Aurora Borealis, Fairbanks

Location

Alaska rewards the bold, but it reveals its magic most fully to those who venture out with a guide who knows how to read the night sky. This collection follows a shared journey into the Arctic night—where engines fall silent, headlamps click off, and the aurora begins its slow, electric dance. Each photograph captures a different moment from the first faint green arc, the sudden curtain of light rippling across a frozen lake, the rare explosion of color that turns the tundra into a stage. Together, these images are not just the northern lights themselves, but the experience of chasing them—embracing the unknown, and standing in the cold Alaskan dark waiting for the sky to come alive.
